  • 1 cup moong dal
  • 1 chilli
  • 2 tbsp coriander
  • pinch hing / asafoetida
  • 1 tsp cumin/jeera
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1-inch ginger
  • oil for roasting


  1. To make Moong Dal Chila, first, soak moong dal and urad dal in 2 cups water for 2-3 hour or overnight.
  2. grind it into a mixer grinder and make a paste. In the mix, add ginger, green chilli, green coriander and salt to it. add water to this mixture and make it like a mixture of dosa.
  3. Now heat a pan. After heated, pour 1 big fat lentil mixture on it. Spreading in the middle of the middle, spreading it in a circular shape. Now pour some oil on all sides and let it cook.
  4. Cook until brown and then revert. On the other side also let the ripen and then heat hot.
  5. Serve the moong dal chilla for the day meal with coriander mint chutney or tomato sauce.
